March is Fraud Prevention Month!

Fraud Prevention Month in Alberta launched today! RECA kicked off the month at Calgary Police Service Headquarters along with other organizations dedicated to preventing fraud.
As part of Fraud Prevention Month, RECA created new resources to help consumers become informed and to help protect themselves from mortgage fraud.
The resources include:
- tips on how to avoid mortgage fraud in English, Punjabi, and Mandarin
- tips for protecting yourself against mortgage fraud
- diagrams outlining typical mortgage fraud scams in Alberta (eg. straw buyer fraud, debt rescue fraud)
- mortgage fraud FAQs
Consumers can find Mortgage Fraud Awareness and Prevention consumer tools on reca.ca.
