Summary of Activities Since April
Education Divestment
The Mortgage Broker Industry Council worked with the other industry councils and the Board to allow the education framework to be approved for consultation. The framework consists of the exam blueprint, pre-licensing education philosophy, and course and course provider requirements. Feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. We have started the review of the mortgage broker competency profiles. We look forward to consulting with you regarding the competency profiles later
this year.
Mortgage Brokerage Policies and Procedures Manual
RECA has been working on a Policies and Procedures Manual template to help brokers in creating or updating their brokerage manuals. AMBA has reviewed the Policies and Procedures Manual template, and we are looking forward to reviewing the Policies and Procedures Manual template at our upcoming meeting.
Election Bylaw Criteria
The Industry Council worked with the Board to come up with the wording for bylaws around elections for Industry Councils. Bylaws must be approved by the Minister. Review of Proposed New Rules for
Mortgage Brokers. The Industry Council discussed Rules that were
consulted on in 2018 and 2019.
