Mortgage Broker Program Course Divestment Update
| November 21, 2022
RECA has been notified that no eligible course provider will have a Mortgage Broker Program course complete and ready for enrolment prior to the December 1, 2022, divestment deadline. We anticipate, based on the information available at this time, that the course will be available from a recognized course provider in mid-January at the latest.
The Mortgage Broker Program is a requirement for those looking to obtain a mortgage broker licence from RECA. It is not a requirement for the mortgage associate licence class.
This means there will be no recognized course available for the Mortgage Broker Program between December 1, 2022 and the approximately six-week period when the new third-party course is expected to be in place. Those interested in upgrading their licence and become a broker will not be able to enrol in the required education during that period.
The RECA Mortgage Broker Program remains available until November 30. It is a self-contained package you can do at your own pace. If you wish to take the Mortgage Broker Program course between December 1 and the anticipated start date of the new course, you can register for RECA’s course by end of day on November 30.
The courses required to become a mortgage associate remain available for enrolment through a recognized third-party provider.
