The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is the independent governing authority that sets, regulates and enforces standards for residential real estate, commercial real estate, property management, condominium management, and mortgage brokerage professionals in Alberta.
RECA derives its authority from the Real Estate Act.
RECA administers the Act on behalf of the Government of Alberta, and the Act gives RECA the authority to create and enforce the Real Estate Act Rules, Regulations, and Bylaws.
RECA also consults stakeholders on potential changes to legislation or Rules, or on policy that may impact consumers, industry professionals, associations, or other stakeholders.
