Calgary, Alberta—On March 3, 2020, a Hearing Panel of the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) suspended the real estate licence of Cornelis Uittenbogerd. Mr. Uittenbogerd is not authorized to trade in real estate.

The Panel determined Mr. Uittenbogerd engaged in reckless or intentional conduct which misled or deceived clients, and failed to:

• disclose a conflict of interest when representing the sellers since he was the buyer in the real estate transaction
• make required personal trade disclosures to the sellers
• explain or fulfill his fiduciary duties to his clients

Mr. Uittenbogerd’s licence will remain suspended for one month, ending April 3, 2020 and must pay a total fine of $16,000 as well as $1,500 in costs.

Mr. Uittenbogerd was most recently a real estate associate with 1119498 Alberta Ltd. o/a Royal LePage Wildrose Real Estate, and was registered as a real estate associate with Linview Realty Inc. at the times relevant to the conduct. More information is in the Hearing Panel Decision.
