Licensees may apply to their respective RECA Industry Council to withdraw from industry membership under section 54 of the Real Estate Act. If the Industry Council approves an application to withdraw, RECA will discontinue all proceedings in respect to a licensee and their conduct.
As a consequence of withdrawing under s.54, the former licensee will receive a permanent, lifetime ban from the industry, and their withdrawal and the allegations that led to an investigation of that licensee will remain posted on RECA’s website in perpetuity.
Please note, that as of December 1, 2020, an Industry Council MUST reject an application if in the opinion of the Industry Council, allegations of fraud or criminal activity have been made against the licensee, and those allegations warrant an investigation.
